This ever happen to you?
This ever happen to you? You start out with the idea of changing the oil and the next thing you know the chain is off, the oil pan is off, the timing cover is off, the valve cover is off..... Why me lord??

I better check the timing in case I made a mistake at the last valve check... https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sup...8c37e8b3a2.jpg The timing is spot on...I better pull the oil pan, it needs a gasket anyway.... https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sup...e3af983c44.jpg Yep, the tranny is fine, needs a chain and sprockets.... |
Well, I never started off with the idea of changing the oil and ended up with a Triumph.

Lol!
Nope, I stay on track typically. All major services are preplanned and never spur of the moment. |
Absolutely. Bought a GSXR600 racebike years ago to do some track days with and get off the street after a terrible accident. Cleaning the wheels snowballed into an every-day, 2 year restoration project and turning it back street legal in the process. Best part was once I was done had no idea what to do with it lol. Put it up for sale that evening and it was sold the next morning.
Actually do it all the time. Just did it yesterday. Had to change two lateral links under my old Toyota (was told one was frozen at the alignment shop-it wasn't). A 30 minute job turned into an all day project to clean and restore the back-half underside off a 300k mile Avalon... |
Whew, I thought it was just me. In fact, aside from the V motor I can't recal the last "planned" maintenance,,,
