Ah, see thats good that you posted that link cuz I am not on facebook. I voted, hope you guys win the trip to hawaii.

autoteach May 25, 2011 07:36 PM

Hey, seriously, I need your help. If you haven't voted, we need all the ones that we can get. https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/NTS7H6K

We are up against stiff competition. Vote Pirate racing!!

And, I didnt see the prize trip to Hawaii???

smokinjoe73 May 25, 2011 07:49 PM

Just being optimistic.

autoteach May 25, 2011 07:55 PM

Dang- gorgeous build. If you don't mid me asking, what is that air scoop going into the front brake for? Is that just a drum brake cooling system?

Color scheme, smooth lines, all +1!

autoteach May 25, 2011 08:19 PM

Just a ridiculous styled brake cooling duct, that is all. It fits with the look of ridiculous megaphones and velocity stacks.

Thanks on the compliments, and thanks for the votes. Lets keep it going. Ask your friends to vote too, I know if we all get in on this we can win!

7moore7 May 25, 2011 08:30 PM

Yup, glad I liked the bike best that I needed to vote for hands down. I think it let me go through facebook and e-mail too? Maybe cause they're different e-mails, I dunno...

What happens to the bikes? How are you guys looking to do in the other categories?

autoteach May 25, 2011 08:34 PM

Well, there are 3 other categories: Milwaukee Vintage Motorcycle Best of Show, Art Bike, and Horse Power (we have so much compression the little 160cc skids the tire in 4th gear, stock wont do it in 2nd).

So, I dont really know how we are going to do, but I hope we do well. The bike will have a busy summer that ends in auction Aug 25

And you might mention that the CB160 only has 4 gears.

I just heard this advertised a few times on the radio! How cool is that? I want to make it to the Iron Horse Hotel, but I just can't do it tonight. I'm pretty pissed about it. I have been following this thread and wanted to be there, but now I can't. This sucks.

Hope it goes well for Pirate Racing!

autoteach Jun 2, 2011 08:44 PM

Well, check out the bikes this weekend. They will be there through Sunday.

autoteach Jun 5, 2011 10:27 AM

Check out the dyno video of our bike. The dyno was inop, but we spun the drum anyway.

Oh My!! Aaron Frank rode the wheels off our bike to a 4th place finish behind 3 CB not160's. He beat bikes with bigger carbs, cams, electronic ignition, more displacement, and after the initial shake down, the bike held together. Seriously a cool weekend.

VTRsurfer Jul 28, 2011 03:01 PM

The Port Washington Pirates got a mention and a photo in the September, 2011 issue of "Motorcyclist" magazine, page 26.

The photo is of Aaron Frank in a tuck atop the Pirates' CB160 at the Road America Vintage Motorcycle Classic on what Motorcyclist calls a "gorgeous machine".

Congrats Bill!

autoteach Jul 28, 2011 03:35 PM

Thanks! Keep an eye out, as the next issue will have the full story. We havent had our interviews yet...

autoteach Mar 26, 2012 06:23 PM

Hey, our bike from last year is up for a vote, and we are getting crushed. Can I get a hand here?? CRoNE Member Bike of the Month (April 2012) | Circle One One

Its the green and gold in the middle of the group.

smokinjoe73 Mar 26, 2012 08:50 PM

autoteach May 10, 2012 08:54 PM

Hey, has anyone here ever used an HEI ignition module to control dwell on a points or a hall effect (dyna) pickup bike? Need info, as we need some serious spark energy for what we are up to.

autoteach May 28, 2012 03:41 PM

Need some serious help here folks. Its voting time, and you know the drill. We still need to get our bike assembled, but it is very close. Get out there and vote for Port Washington High school, the only 90 degree crank, trellis frame, extended and braced swingarm, aluminum bodywork (kiddo made), bike in the voting.

Well, I have a school bus...so that is a win. And thanks to all who have voted so far. Posted more pics tonight of some hot items. We will have a nearly final picture up tomorrow. If anyone is going to be at RA for AHRMA or at Grattan, give me a shout!
