I'm hoping this series is gonna turn around when Vancouver comes back to play on home ice....another pounding again!!! I hope they dont start Luongo on the next game, it seems like he's lost his confidence after the last 2 *** kickings they took. My fingers are crossed that they'll be able to get it together and come back from this...really dont want to see Boston win the series. On another note, been hearing rumors that our new NHL team will be called the Winnipeg Golden Jets....not sure if it'll fly(no pun intended) but it would at least let people scream "go jets go" at games and let them merchandise new products to people....and not have Bettman own the rights to the name....time will tell, they're supposed to announce it in 2 weeks when the sale goes to the NHL board.

oh, and I like hockey so much, I made some cheapo mirror extenders out of......

wait for it......

a couple of old hockey pucks! two extender sleeves and 10mm extensions through the pucks. They actually work pretty good for about 20 bucks, but I need to clean them up a little.

Now you just need to carry a goalie stick with you while you ride, to whack the cars that try to cut you off....or just throw a spare puck at them.

And Bob Murray (Ducks GM) traded Max LaPierre and a minor leaguer to the Canucks for a minor leaguer and a 3rd round pick in 2012.

very cool! How old is your son? Do you guys get to skate together? We have a senior league here, and in the summer we let high school and college age kids play. It really speeds up the 3rd period when all the old guys are slowing down!

Here is my latest purchase. From the goalie of the local Junior A team.

i am fortunate enough to be an assistant coach for my young lad's initiation team. 5 & 6 year olds, and what a good time. those little fellers have such a good time out on the ice. seeing their faces on the ice is one of the best experiences of my life. next year he moves up a level and i am not sure if i will be helping out

as for us old guys, i understand what you're saying. everybody scores(beer) in the 4th period! i am very thankful for hockey. it makes the best of winter.

i still remember excatly where i was and what i was doing when i heard wayne gretzky was traded!

Just so you know......the NHL started with the Montreal CANADIENS

So.....Boychuk bending Raymond's spine at a 90 degree angle backwards against the boards (he didn't have the puck) is not reason for a penalty?...or a suspension? And the NBC announcers basically ignore it?!!! (Raymond was sent to the hospital!) After they were out for blood when Rome hit Horton 1 second late? After they were out for blood when Burrows bit the glove of Bergeron?

Go Canucks!!! Win the Cup in 7!

Then after Wednesday night I go back to being a diehard Ducks fan.

Raymond's spine was backwards? He was bent forward and the hit wasn't exactly hard. People twist the wrong way and things snap. Have a look at the Youtube video.

Well, if bent over and butt first isn't backwards, I don't know what is.

He never touched the puck, and he got a fractured vertebrae (broken back) out of it. Horton got a concussion, and Rome received a 4 game suspension.

I'll take a concussion over a broken back any day.

Wow, you're bringing a tear to my eye. "So.....Boychuk bending Raymond's spine at a 90 degree angle backwards" certainly sounds like he's being bent backwards to me. I've been a hockey fan for 45 years and the guys are faster, bigger and more skillfull then in the old days but also they seem to more prone to very bad injuries. I'm sorry Raymond got hurt but it seems to be sad part of the game these days. The concussion issue is real as the Bruins have found out with three major stars getting them in the last couple of years. (Savard, Bergeron and now Horton) Maybe they have to look at better helmets more like a football helmet or a nice Arai! To add more fuel to this conversation, Rome was head hunting when he hit Horton!

Excuse me for omitting a comma. "Backwards" means "*** end first". And yes, I think that was a dirty hit. Boychuk didn't have to follow through on that hit. The NHL is getting too much like the NFL. I'd prefer to see clean skilled hockey, rather than guys trying to take each other out of the game.

The way I see it, Boychuk is just as guilty of carelessly causing an injury as Rome was. Just because the NHL doesn't have a "rule" against slamming a player in a bent over position backwards into the boards, when he didn't even touch the puck, doesn't make it a "clean" hit. But obviously you are a Bruins fan.

I'm not the only one who believes it was a dirty hit. It's all over the internet. And I'm no Vancouver fan, by far. I just don't like the way the Bruins play, Tim Thomas excepted, the Vezina is his. Having said that, I don't like the way the Sedins play either. That diving call was way overdue. But this has come down to East vs West, and one thing I am sure of...the West has by far the best waves...and I'm riding Ortega tomorrow.

Yes, I am a Bruins fan and proud of it and I do like the way they play. When the playoffs start the girls can go home. I will also add that this has been a hard hitting series with plenty of after game fodder to talk about and win or lose tonight I have enjoyed it very much.
Well, enjoy the waves and the game. If you ever see a yellow SuperHawk in San Clemente by all means wave because it won't be me, the fat old Bruins fan!

As we were moving from B.C and bound for Ontario, I said to my wife " now watch the Canucks win the Stanley Cup next year" could yet be a prophetic statement...

Well, the Bruins prevail and I have now seen my favorite team win the Stanley Cup 3 times which is half of all the times they have won it. At this moment I'd like to add that I feared the Canucks would be too powerful a team for the Bruins to beat. I envisioned a sweep and at the beginning only hoped the Bruins could keep things close and win a game or two so they didn't look to impotent. Well, they shifted into a gear I didn't they had but it's history now. For any of you Canaucks fans I only say, I know your pain and keep positive because it will come around for you I hope in the near future.

The Bruins won and deservedly so. While I was initially rooting for the Canucks (am a Canadian after all, and the cup hasn`t been back in far too long), IMO no team which gets so soundly trounced three games away is deserving of the top honour. In the end, the team with the most heart won (as it should). Congrats to the Bruins....

Yeah, whose cars were they burning? What a bunch of idiots, like Lakers fans who burn and trash LA win or lose.

Boston had superior defense throughout the series, and obviously the best goalie in the league. Vancouver's offense just plain didn't show up for the entire series. I think they could have used Corey Perry and Bobby Ryan in place of the dreaded Sedins. No doubt that the best team won.

The Ducks went 2 and 2 against the Canucks (with 1 being a shootout loss) during the regular season. How long until October? Go Ducks!

I heard this quote in a movie and believe it!
"In chaos there is profit".
I understand stores were looted. What better way to disguise theft then while everyone is looking at other things going on. I think this is also the reason you see that sort of behavior in LA for just about any excuse that comes along. Human nature again shows it's ugly side.

tim thomas is now one of my fav players. not because is he a good goalie and the reason the ruins won the cup, but because he seems like such a nice and down to earth guy.

marchand played his jr hockey here with the wildcats. he was a competitor then too. too bad the ruins didn't keep karsums.
