Yes we can give the banks trillions but can't fund a program that helps normal people.

scuttlebutt is transit told the dealers to shut it down at midnite. out of money.
but think about it. I have 3 v-8 clunkers. I'd love to take advantage of it. But they're all paid for. And who wants a note in an uncertain economy? even if I were normal, ie. ok job, I couldn't afford a note. This only benefited those who were well-off and already in the market w/ the means. It's a bump that will have a dip later.

I'm sticking w/ my '92 Accord clunker. 198,000 miles & no payments.

I don't like the cash for clunkers idea. Again, folks WE are PAYING for it. Some will say it's for a good cause (or 2), but it's just more government interference in things best left to the marketplace.
I work for a dental equipment company. For years the feds have let dentists buy $100,000 in major equipment per year with a 40% tax break. Yes, it helps my business and will hurt when they stop, but it is still the government getting unnecessarily involved in the marketplace.

Per CNN the Gov't (your Obama buddies you voted into office) are saying that it will be extended through the weekend. They are trying to get more funding, another $2B of my kids money, to extend it out for a while. It seems they are too busy planning the kegger at the Kennedy's during the August "break".
