I rode one for 60 miles. Most damn uncomfortable motorcycle I have ever been on.

Two completely different bikes in my opinion. Would have been great in my 20s when my wife and i could ride all day and be painless the next day... Nowadays i'm fine with the superhawk.

SP1, not bad, but I would prefer the SP2. It is a very different bike though, not exactly daily commute...

Own 3 RC-51s, and the 2001 S-Hawk in the photo,
I usually allow people to ride the 2002 Track RC-51.. Which has the Moriwaki rear-set, Sato clip-ons, Ohlins rear shock, Ohlins front forks, Ohlins steering damper... Any of the 20 people that I have allowed to have ridden this awesome handling bike, .... 30 miles and they are DONE....
Now anyone that owns a RC51 love the bike(ain't another like it)

Yet she is like a Mistress, You only ride her when it is convenient....
You don't want to ride her all the time....

Stay with your S-Hawk..
RC-51 is for curves, Track days, or bike nights(talking topic)

Is not the fastest, it is FAT, Heavy....

You can research that RC-51 on Speedzilla.com
I don't believe all the information provided for the sale is true......

That is a very nice NC30! I can't stand the color scheme/graphics, but that doesn't change the fact that it is nice!

In regards to TLR's... I like the rear ends of those late 90's GSXR's/TL's, but I agree the front ends of the TL/TLR's.... The headlight looked terrible when they came out, now it looks really dated.

That's what I like about the Superhawks, they have a timeless look about them.

Agree about the Hawk, but are we alone? Does everyone else think it's an aged looking old bike? Cause I don't see that.

I rode in a group ride with a guy on a NC. That bike was soo small, and he wasn't a short guy so it looked worse.

All that work on that RC30 and he never rode it. Maybe he never wanted to ride it. He must have 3 times what he's asking in it if he did all he says.

I'll take a TLR over the hawk ANY day. EFI, USD forks, steering damper stock, and MUCH more comfortable seat. I had an 03 and I still regret selling it. If I could have found a TLR for the price I paid for my hawk trust me it would have been TLR ALL day long.

The 97 TLS was called the widowmaker. The 98-03 R and 98-01 S were a little more tame.

I'll take a TLR over the SV simply because the SV uses the old TLS mill. The R had different cams, higher compression, two injectors per cylinder, a liquid oil cooler and slipper clutch. Also that SV you linked has GSXR forks. The SV came with standard forks like the Hawk.

It's too bad you have to link images because I'd upload pics of my old R.

The TLS was the widowmaker and journalist killer when it came out in 97. The R when it came out in 98 and the 98-01 S were tamer. The S is fugly yes. The R looks great IMHO.

Yeah well sport bike fans are kind of hosed in this community. Pretty much everyone around here wants a harley or a metric cruiser so sport bikes are hard to find and get higher than average prices as a result. It kills me to read some of the ads for stuff in California where bikes like ours are plentiful.
