WTB: Stock Windscreen

I was changing my brake fluid, and for some reason I thought it would be a good idea to spray the reservoir with brake cleaner. I covered the gauges and everything else with a rag, but not the windscreen. The spray bounced off the lid and into the inside of the windscreen. I didn't think anything of it until about 90 seconds later when I watched the plastic crack all the way through. It spider webbed out to about a 5" x5" area.

I don't want or need a fancy aftermarket one, just want the stock. Unless someone has a real good deal on a decent looking clear one of a different kind. Has to be clear though, I make lots of videos.

I'm out of town for about a week or so, so can't ship anything. But if no one comes through with one before that, I have one.

I'm grateful for the offers, this is going to turn out well.

But I'm a little upset that no one decided to comment on the events that lead me to needing this windscreen. Does no one else think it's odd that brake cleaner does this. Or did everyone already know about it and I just didn't get the memo?

I was expecting it though. Other wise I would have made up a cool story, like hitting a bird at 120mph or something. Or maybe a flying squirrel.

I found out the hard way on a $600 hyd. pressure guage lense. My company used to use one brake cleaner from a certain company and that certain company discontinued the product due to environmental regs. The replacement recomended by that same certain company didn't work as well and chewed up plastics badly. We've since changed products again to something that doesn't affect plastics but is even less effective than the original chemical. Oh yeah that same certain company supplies it too.

you should try it on clear coated engine parts sometime, like say, on old cbx valve covers by mistake!! really very pretty the way it spiders out all over the surface like a cracked autoglass.

the silence is just our reflection of learning it the hard way ourselves I guess.
