Lot of people get a K&N or other aftermarket filter, even when the bike is pretty new. So someone might have one sitting on the shelf with just a few miles on it.

Please clarify. I didn't understand your description. Is it a K&N? Or some other brand?

The brand is HiFlowFiltro.. It is a stock style air filter.. Its brand new, sealed in plastic.. And from what I hear these are either made by K&n, or are modeled from them (knock-offs).. I'v never heard anything bad about them, and the only reson I dont need it is that i have two other air filters..

As far as foam of paper I'm not quite sure what the difference is.. I'd guess paper from the way it feels.. Hope that helps.
