WTB:Sargent or Corbin seat
WTB:Sargent or Corbin seat
I'm looking for a new seat and they are getting hard to come by for a decent price. Keep in mind my bike is yellow so one with red piping isn't going to cut it. Let me know what you have. Pics would be great if your looking to sell.
This one is pretty pimp if you don't mind shelling out that kind of money :lol

I thought about getting one for mine.. but then saw how stupid expensive they are direct from corbin (the locking truck, I have the seat and its well worth the money for it, the locking trunk costs more than the seat does however)

I even emailed the guy selling the smuggler and made him a decent offer. He won't even reply. I would love to buy that seat with the smuggler, but not paying that much for it. He's nuts. I would pay $300-400, but not $600.
You can get a brand new Sargent for $409-$429 + ship depending on how you get it. Here's a link to my Sargent purchase thread: https://www.superhawkforum.com/forum...nt-seat-30805/
I have a yellow '99 and got the yellow pillion with no welt. The yellow isn't a perfect match. It's a bit lighter, but when the sun hits the yellow paint, that part of the paint looks lighter, too.

Thanks!
Here is a picture of it on my bike.
I had the same issue with the custom seat I made. Those plastic tabs are a little flexible, but break off very easily. It's better to remove material, than have the cowl go flying off at some point during a ride. This type of plastic gets brittle as the temperature gets colder.
Just take some sandpaper and sand down the edge that sits on the seat. Sure, you're removing some paint, but once the cowl is in place, you don't see the edge you sanded down anyways.

Do you see much of a difference if the stock seat is used after the sanding?
I just went and installed my stock seat and fit the cowl. There is ~1/16" gap. Barely perceptible. I shook the seat pretty good and the cowl doesn't move at all. The clips keep it in place pretty well.
However, I'm not sure how thick a Sargent seat is compared to stock, so...
Individual results may vary
Can you do $200 shipped to Las Vegas, zip 89134? The funny thing is, it's more about the tube under the seat to carry a little extra fuel- the seat on my bike seems very okay for 100 miles.
