I would go with a 905 cage. Ive never stunted a hawk but the r6 ive ridden had a freestyle inginuity cage on it and it really isnt designed for constant abuse. Its designed for the seasoned stunter who rarely drops and doesnt want the bulk of the 905 cage. The freestyle one would bend every fall and have to be straightened. Kids i know with a 905 never had a issue.

Yeah that's the site I found and posted up here a little while back. I was actually kinda surprised and thought it was cool someone makes this stuff for our bikes. They have the two different kinds-"stunt" and "race" armor

I was looking at the 905 site - does anyone have any pics of these installed on a 'hawk? I am considering either the race or stunt armor for my hawk for offroading.

Anybody know if they interfere with normal operation?

Just made some adjustments to the suspension - picked the triples up on the fork tubes, shimmed the rear, changed the front fender to a supermoto type, put ATV high bars on it, fabbed a skidplate (mostly a rockguard, it won't take a good bash as it would hit the oil filter), got a fiberglass upper and am having the tank, fender, rear cowl, and upper Line-X'd.

It isn't for single-track or big hillclimbs, just capable of some dirt/gravel roads. An associate on a KTM 950 and I will be doing a portion of the Continental Divide Trail, the part from northern New Mexico to Wyoming.

I'll post pics when it gets closer, but here are some showing the progress (or digress, dependent on how much of a purist you are). I hope to retain everything so that I can return it to stock should the need present itself.

It's already been done.

Kinda hard to do in the US.

And the 'dero is a real porker.

And the seat height is around 34".

And I built this thing for about $4300, including the 6800 mile pristine 2000 SH.

And if I burn it in the driveway, I still will have had my fun with it.

And I probably won't see another one, anywhere.

Try that with a KTM 950 or a 11XX/12XXGS.

DrPepper, please let us know how the armor works out. You will probably have it around the time I am leaving on my trip, too late for me to make a decision and buy some in time. I'd be interested in your thoughts on whether they interfere with rideability or function, if they stick out a lot, etc.

And pictures would be GREAT...
