Yeah, at today's freight rates shipping an exhaust system is a problem. Florida to New Hampshire $60-70?

shipping rates ? UPS has gone to dimensional weight. i ship items every day at work, no prices havn't just jumped but they have a steady increase the last couple of years.

USPS has a rate calculator online.

He's one of our respectable elders, and keeps up with the times... plus he's done a bunch of shipping recently.

Anyway, anyone can go to UPS.com or whatever and put in zip codes and weight, and sometimes dimensions, and get an estimate.

When I used the figure of $60-70 I was referring to a full system shipped. Cans and header - and yes, I have recent experience and yes, freight rates have gone dimensional and basic rates are up substantially.

For example, when I ship the header the box is 18X18X36. Based on the dimensions ALONE UPS assumes it weighs 70lbs and charges accordingly.

Don't be mislead by what companies can ship to you for.

Another example, I ship a header to JetHot for coating. It costs me about $40 at the mail store. When JetHot sends it back to me the freight label is for $18.

All these companies get greatly reduced fees because the truck can pickup a bunch packages at one stop and other economies of scale exist all along their pipeline that private individuals simply do not enjoy.

Then you all would have been proud about a year ago when I wrapped a superhawk header in cardboard and tape (got LOTS of strange looks)and managed to get to australia for $40! LOL. UPS wanted like $250.00...

By the way bluethunder I've got a mint pair of polished aluminum D&D's. The chrome midpipes were also swapped out for nicer polished stainless mids from scorpion. I'm going to put them on ebay as soon as I get a chance but you can have them for $350 and shipping if you want them.

If it arrived in shape that's huge pull-off! I can believe the UPS quote though and now you can't work UPS against FEDX against the common carriers. They have all tightened up. This more the norm: Ordered a new bumper for the diesel truck. Bumper - $103.70 - shipping $74.60
