Vance & Hines Cans, Interested in Trading
Vance & Hines Cans, Interested in Trading
Hey guys, when I bought the bike, it came with Vance&Hines exhaust. I guess it's just cans, and everything else is stock? I'm not sure to be honest. Anyway, these cans are really loud. Maybe they aren't repacked right, or maybe that's just the way they are. I suspect the later. Would anyone be interested in trading for something quieter? I like the looks of High Mounts, but they are going to be worth more than these I'm sure. There is a scuff on one muffler too. I'll try and get more pictures if anyone is actually interested. I honestly don't know what these are worth compared to other exhaust systems for the Hawk.
Currently I'm in Houghton, MI. But I will be in Detroit in less than a month, traveling from the UP. And in Harvard, IL, my hometown at some point this summer as well. If it is easier to meet than ship that works for me.

As I've said a few times before the Yoshimura street mufflers are the quietest aftermarket mufflers I've heard, and the only ones I wouldn't call "loud." Otherwise just sell them and put stock mufflers back on the bike. If they're TOO quiet you could always do a progressive bafflectomy starting with just some holes in the baffles to get the right amount of noise to your liking (and on up to drilling out and removing them which is as loud as aftermarket pipes). You may also try a quiet insert to tone them down a bit. Don't think Vance and Hines came with them originally so you'd have to drill a hole in the outlet for a screw and might make them fit. Something like this...they're all over ebay, etc.
