SOCAL 2001 Superhawk

Please help, I hate to admit it but the time has come to part with my Superchicken due to what else? Debt!! I am very partial to my bike but I must sell and am willing to deliver for a negotiated fee depending on where you are located. Bike is in great condition and has:
16k miles
Yosh slip-ons
15 tooth vortex front sprocket - stock will come with bike
5 year xtended warranty from 03 I believe
new battery
rear seat cowl
new oil
premium gas only used
changed the front light to a bright yellow
Dunlop D208 tires, rear is greatk, front will need change when back does
Registration just paid
Fairings are 99.5% flawless

I will also include a full tank of race/premium gas with transaction. I am willing to accept any reasonable offers but I am looking to squeeze $4000 for it. Let me know if you want to see more pictures or video of it.

Also here is a link to my buddy who is selling his GSXR if somebody is interested.

Thanks all!!

A full tank of gas is actually worth a lot in SoCal! Good luck with the sale.

Sorry for the delays

I had some trouble with this account. If anybody is possibly still interested, 16k miles on it. I would deliver to Reno, NV for an extra $150 (neg.) Vegas is nearby so it would not be too bad. Anywhere else with a decent spot near it I will deliver for considerably cheap. Please keep in mind the price of the bike is NEGOTIABLE

I would like to get $3800

Still on the market

The time to ride is coming around. This bike is still for sale, a couple of people fell through so if there is anybody who is interested in it, here she is. I also added a buddies GSXR just to help him out.

Peace ALL

Have you tried listing it on Craigslist?

Craigslist, CycleTrader...

Tried these options but nothing. I just don't understand, I see older hawks with twice the mileage and they sell for more. Heck, they sell. Alright, maybe they have a windscreen and a jet kit but nothing more than this one. Anyway, all suggestions are appreciated and if anybody wants to trade a track ready bike for it, let me know.

Interested in New Orleans

I'm looking for a red 2001 superhawk. Are those slip-ons carbon fiber, or just black?

If I went through with this I guess I'd probably end up trying to ship it shop-to-shop to a Honda dealer here in NOLA.

Also, what's the point of the new front sprocket?

More power/acceleration at the cost of a little less top speed.

Patience friend, the riding season (I know, we Californians are spoiled and don't really have a season) is just coming upon us. I bought a 98 with 27k, with pipes, jetting, Racetech spings, and well cared for for $3400. I think you are in the range. In fact I would have bought yours if I hadn't found one locally. Is the chain new? Maybe you should clarify the tire condition as your comments are a little vague. Other than that, it is just a matter of time. Or keep it and ride it!

Lazn is absolutely right, more torque in the low end - just not screaming at 175. Maybe a jet kit will help out a bit. I just never raced it, it was my commuter bike. That is why I also offer the stock sprocket

The chain is not a new chain. It is still the stock chain and I will be more than happy to change it out if necessary or if it will make the buyer feel better. The dealer who I always take it to has never brought it up so never really minded much other than cleaning religously.

The front tires are ready to be changed. Minimum tread but I have some extra tires if that is an issue. The rear tire has about 3k left on them for an intermediate rider.

I would definitely keep my bike but having 3 bikes is not too practicle since I am not the most financially stable person. The title is clear and clean on the hawk so that is a plus.

If anybody wants more detailed pics or video just give me your email address and I will make arrangements.

PS for some reason I do not get updates from these threads sent to my email consistantly but if you would like hit me up for a quicker response. georonimo1313@yahoo.com

Have you re-jetted the bike? And what kind of jet kit is installed?

Thumbs up

No jet kit and I have Totally considered parting it out. It is just the time it would take to ship the parts. If I do end up parting it out, I will let you know.

Ebay? that is interesting, how does the shipping work? Is it usually people in the area who purchase it, do you ship it and if so how much does that usually cost, or do you drive it out or meet them half way. Thanks for your input

Most of the time it is someone local who buys it. Google motorcycle and car shipping companies and get an idea about price. I'd try and stick to local stuff though, say you are willing to travel a certian distance to meet them. And only do cash in hand plus a $500 deposit with paypal. I bet it sells in a week. The most important thing about EBAY is a good description and lots of pictures.

Thanks a lot Drew, I mean what could it hurt. I will post it tonight and we'll see how it goes.
Thanks for your support in many ways and be careful out there in the Desert.

You might also try CycleTrader.com. EBay lists an auction price, whereas on CycleTrader you set the price and deal with the buyer. I've heard folks tend to get more when selling on CycleTrader. Just a suggestion.

Having just spent a bundle on a new 05, I wish I'd known about this a month ago. Oh well! Best of luck.

Let me know the EBAY number when you get it. I know a few guys from your area, and I'll pass it on.

I would appreciate that Drew. As for Cycletrader.com, I posted it as well as the publication and no bites. I must be doing something wrong cause it sure ain't my bikes fault. Drew, you could always hand out my email address and if they let me know that you sent them, I will take care of them. Peace out brothas
