NEW Fox shock

It's only 10mm shorter than the VTR unit (easily shimmed) but it will need a new bottom mount. Edit: It now looks like it's not removeable or am I wrong? I don't know how much a mount would be but it has a very low price ($200 NEW):

It looks to me that the bottom mount is welded onto the piston rod. I've got a customer that has 35 different certifications as a welder and if anybody was going to mod a shock for me it would be welded together by this guy. I think by compressing the spring sufficient area of the piston rod would be exposed to he could heat sink at that point (area). I think if I was going to ask him to do it, I would have a c-note in my pocket for persuasion.

SOLD with buy it now... Oh well.. I got nothing but time I guess.

Need to find that one guy that has the brake parts I need, a Fox shock that fits, and well as long as we are wishing here.. Maybe a whole RC51 front end, with Ohlins full race prepped sliders.. LOL Oh, and the Buy it now price is $100 shipped...

I checked the buyers feedback (less than stellar) and it appears he might have bid to resell ($#^%*#@) but......

it's back again. I guess his feedback was an indicator. Unfortunately, the buy-it-now price was eliminated by a new opening bid.

However, here's another NEW one WITH a removeable bottom collar. IIRC from my previous research the zx series has a length close to the VTR. Might be a better candidate in the end:

How do the fox shocks compare with the other shocks like penske, or WP, or ohlins? And if there's any others let me know because i'm in the market for one!

Bling,
So....a new lower mount, and this one should be good to go?
Thanks for the info.

I assume you are referring to the second one. No besides needing the correct bottom mount, the spring will most likely need to be changed out.

Fox no longer makes streetbike shocks but, of course, still service their stuff. They are on the lower end of the aftermarket spectrum.
