FS: Superhawk

Yep. Me too.

Here goes:

Year: 1999 (yellow!)

Miles: 23,xxx

Title: Salvage (only damage to fairings; forks, frame, and swingarm suffered no damage) from my lowside at Buttonwillow last year.

Condition: cracked mounting point for the plastics, scrapes along the right (throttle) side of the tail and front fairing. MiG pipes suffered a little bit of scraping, but no leaks/cracks. A small crack in the undertail that prevents the end of the one of the MiG cans to bolt onto the undertail; but the exhaust is held stiffly enough with the passenger footpeg bracket. Also, there is a small scuff on the top of the master cylinder. There are no leaks from the MC. Oil and filter were just changed last week.

Modifications:
- EBC HH sintered front brake pads (less than 200 miles on them)
- SBS rear brake pads
- Race Tech fork springs (1.0kg/mm)
- ZG DB windscreen (clear)
- F2 Heli bars
- SS brake lines
- MiG high-mount slip-ons (will include stock pipes)
- APE MCCTs
- PitBull spool adapters + spools (no stands, sorry)
- +2 rear sprocket
- R6 mirrors
- Pazzo Racing levers (gold with black adjusters)
- camera/camcorder tank-mount
- LP rear turn signals
- LP preload adjusters

Price: $2800

Pictures:

WTF dude....is there something in the water? OK that does it I am going to sell mine to and buy a BIG Wheel...All plastic one,,,,,,,,this is insane...stop the madness...

Great deal for someone...Personally I think You should part the bike out, as I would love some of those mods......:)

Good luck....

marmaladedad 06-13-2006 08:15 AM

Hahaha, there must be.

I'm definitely tempted to strip the whole bike apart and sell it piecemeal, since I think it'd be a great learning experience. But then, I'd never learn how to put her back together. ;)

superhawk22 06-13-2006 08:19 AM

A damn shame! What's going to grace the garage when she's gone?

marmaladedad 06-13-2006 08:27 AM

Hopefully a 1kRR. :D

superhawk22 06-13-2006 08:28 AM

Good luck and if you do sell, stay in touch we enjoy your straight foward no bs answers.

marmaladedad 06-13-2006 08:38 AM

I'll definitely be back someday. It won't be that easy to get rid of me. Mwahahahaha...

Randman 06-13-2006 09:04 AM

Man you really suck....1Krr I am soooo jealous.... truly stay in touch, I want to know how you like it if that's the one that you end up with....

EngineNoO9 06-13-2006 11:56 AM

haha yeah I've talked about a 1000rr too. I'd like 1 more full season I think under my belt with the superhawk before I do that though :)

Hawkrider 06-13-2006 12:25 PM

Buy the RR and keep the VTR. That's what I did. That way you'll have the best of both worlds: Comfy commuter and part time canyon carver (VTR) AND dedicated canyon carver and part time commuter (RR). :)

marmaladedad 06-13-2006 02:03 PM

Heya Greg, I've been considering exactly that. But, the main thing is I'm tired of canyon riding. I'll still do it, but only if I'm going up with a bunch of riding buddies. And even then, if I know it's going to be a spirited ride, I'd probably just take a n00b along for a slow(er) ride, or just not go. Pushing myself in the canyons is no longer fun, and recently our local infamous Crest-piggie (I'm sure caffeineracer knows) has been stepping up his "enforcement."

As for commuting, I'll probably end up teaching in a not-so-nice area soon (Compton), so I don't want to bring anything that draws undue attention to me. Besides, if the 1kRR deal doesn't go through, I'll be getting one of the bikes I've always lusted after - the VFR800 (non-VTEC).

superhawk22 06-13-2006 02:10 PM

You're a good man Marm, that's a tough enviorment to teach!! I'm sure if I ever get my teching cert the first place I go will probably be along the same lines.

Hawkrider 06-13-2006 03:01 PM

Damn, didn't they make a movie about that place???

Wow, we're threadjacking the hell out of the classified section, aren't we? HAHAHAHA!

superhawk22 06-13-2006 03:06 PM

 Yes they did, and this thread will be 3 pages long with no offers!!

marmaladedad 06-13-2006 03:30 PM

LoL

That's ok. I figured on a bike-specific forum, what are the odds that someone would actually BUY another Superhawk? It's also up on the local CL, but that place is kinda weird... :O

Yeah, "Stand and Deliver" is one of my favorites. Not for the math, but I'm a big fan of Edward James Olmos. First in S&D, again in Selena (yes, I watched it :P ), and later on in Battlestar Gallactica.

RonVTR 06-14-2006 12:54 AM

PMd ya on the RT Gold Valves too.

sprhawk neil 06-14-2006 04:02 PM

do you have a sharkskin lower or just race body work?

thanks in advance,Neil

p.s.don't tell the others but I've been thinking about letting mine go to best of luck to ya stay safe

marmaladedad 06-14-2006 07:43 PM

sprhawk neil - you are third in line for the race fairings.

It is a complete set of Sharkskinz. I purchased them from xcooper (not sure if he's still lurking on SHF). It comes with an upper, lower, race tail (seat pad, doesn't use the stock seat) with a small, slim hole cut out (possibly for a thin brake light) and an undertail piece.

marmaladedad 06-14-2006 08:11 PM

Miles edited. I forgot it's up to 22k now. Stupid me.

Lower asking price, too.
