runs great, needs more gear as it will run right to redline (didn't try, its just got the motor to do it). Honda had this idea that no one would ride over 65mph, so the speedo shows 85 and the gearing is for 110ish, it would be a great bike with more gear thrown at it and it is a very clean specimen. I hope I can find a good family for it!

Sweet.
I bought an 81 in '03 for $100, just needed to put the throttle together. Ran great then I sold it for $1500.
Bought an '80 in '04 for $600, had to put a seat and tank on it. Ran great then sold it for $900.
Bought an '81 in '06 for $500. It needed some body work but the thing Ran great then I gave it to a friend.
Yep, great deal on the '81 for sale in this thread. Clean as hell too.
They're very dependable bikes.

its a 1980, cosmo black metallic. 1981's had dual front brakes, two tone paint on side covers and tank, and the front forks were a leading axle style.

Bill, this is a truly nice specimen. Did you guys restore it to this condition or find it mostly there? Either way, great job. If you could check into shipping to 78729 I might have a buyer. Thanks! Great bike!

There may be a chance that I could get it down there. My sister is working in tx and it may be a stretch, but let me check on shipping.
As for the bike, it was a great core, but it needed intake valves on cylinder 1 and a valve adjust on the rest. Other than that, a carb clean and voila. It did have a cracked, not rusted, exhaust which we repaired as well as the rear chrome rack cracked by a weld that we repaired. It runs grat, though, and would be a great addition to any collection.

haulbikes.com if any one is interested in finding out shipping cost. Otherwise it would have to be ridden to its final destination and then it would be a fuel and travel cost.
