F.S. Sargent Seat

I have my Sargent seat for sale on Ebay.
4611312699

I bought both a Corbin and a Sargent. I tried them both for a 500 mile ride each and found that I prefer the Corbin. From my discussions with owners of the seats, tall people prefer Sargent and shorter people prefer Corbin. I am 5'4" if that helps.

Re: F.S. Sargent Seat

OK I will clarify the height comment. I sit as far forward as you can because that is the most comfortable riding position for me. If you sit right on the tank too IMO a Corbin is better. If you sit back a bit, where your butt should go, Sargent is better.

Re: F.S. Sargent Seat

I didn't feel that it was too slippery of a seat. I felt I could stay put or move if I decided to. I was wearing cordura pants, and I am not sure how sticky or slippery leather pants would be.

I can not access Ebay from this computer. Is the seat all black or does it have color also? What color?

Just looked at it a little while ago, it's the red passenger seat with red piping, looks really nice.

Get some tank grippers.
When you start to slide into the tank, grip it with your knees to stop the slide.
Works for me.

My Sargent is less slick than stock but didn't stop the sliding problem.

"Tank grippers"...that was the technical name I was looking for. Thanks. I'm off in search of 'tank grippers"

I'd be interested if anyone was getting rid of a yellow accented Sargent seat.

Dawg,
Good on you!
I checked them out and they are what I've been trying to come up with. It helps when you know what to call them. I seriously did not want to use pieces off an old wet suit glued to the bike.

cliffhangerstx,
Unfortunately someone has bid on it already otherwise I would end it early for you. I hate when people do that so I dont want to be that person. Good luck in your quest for a yellow piped one.

Re: F.S. Sargent Seat

I am looking for the red one, so I will watch the auction, only I leave for Jamaica on the 13th so I won't be able to see it end....If I win, I won't be able to pay until I get back, as I won't have internet access.....will that be a problem??

Any reason you didn't list it for sale on this forum?? Stuff like that sells very fast here...and cost nothing to list...

Good luck with it....for my sake, I hope it sells cheap.... Wishful thinking.....

Re: F.S. Sargent Seat

No problem on the trip. If you win just email me and pay when you get back.
I put it on ebay because I didn't know how much it was worth. I polled the local SH owners who were looking with a price I thought was fair and got no bites so I figured whatever it sells for is what it was worth.

Sorry I didn't post here first. I have lowers to sell too. I'll be sure to post here first when I get pictures of them on my bike.
