D & D slip on's for sale/trade
Hi all. First time poster here.
I've just bought a new (to me) SH and it's got some decent condition D & D slip on's. I'd rather have a stock system (shocker, I know, but I just like quiet bikes).
I'm looking to trade someone for their stock pipes and get a little cash on the side. Not sure what a fair asking price would be, but I was thinking $200 + stock cans.

I hear it's a nice one.. Hagen/Hagon or something like that... Lucky for me the previous owner and I are the same weight, so it's already dialed in. I have a suspicion that I might be asking too little for the pipes?

What is wrong with that rear tire? It looks like someone tried to take the chicken strips off with a torch.

Synaptik - thanks for the offer, but I'd rather buy a set of stockers and sell the D & D's outright for closer to $300.
Drew - the previous owner fitted some race compound take off's from the track onto the bike. SUPER sticky, lasts about the same time as the typical Britney Spears marriage.

Just a suggestion...$300 is a bit steep.
These sell new for around $450. For "ok" condition pipes...$300 is a bit too much.
I was going to buy a guys D&D's in very good condition for $170 shipped....so all I'm saying is $300 is pretty pricey.

I have had two offers that I am considering, both are the same. Stock pipes in near mint condition + $100. Luckily one of them lives very close and we can make a trade in person. Would you say that's fair BRB?

Honestly, if your looking to go back stock, and the other person has them in mint condition, and is local, I think the $100 + trade is fair...
There are guy's selling pipes for $200 or so on a somewhat regular basis, and high mounts normally for $300-350'ish...
I say make the local person do the driving to you, swap them out and grab your $100.00... Makes two people happy, and you get some cash. Its probably as close to a steel for the new buyer as they will get, BUT... if you sell the pipes outright, you gotta remove them, box them up nicely, and ship them, and will probably more than likely be paying shipping to get your stockers from somewhere.. So in my honestly opinion, that extra $50 or so you might have made by doing it the long way is WAY more worth it in the time savings...

Excellent! Well, looks like I'll be trading with someone local-ish. The people next door will appreciate that!
