2004 KTM 450 SMR, So Cal (LA area), $3800

Not sure how many here would be interested, but we're all two-wheel fans, right?

- KTM Hard Parts axle sliders (slight scuff on one)
- Cycra Pro Bend barguards
- AFAM rear sprocket (47T), NIB, uninstalled
- AFAM front sprocket (14T), NIB, uninstalled
- AFAM front sprocket (13T), NIB, uninstalled
- 520 non o-ring EK chain, NIB, uninstalled
- Excel lift stand + regular non-lifting type stand

The bike has been down a few times, but these bikes do crash very well. The only damage is to the axle slider and scuffing on the bar guards. Approximately 20 hours on the bike.

The pictures show the old KTM bar guards (I will include these) and do not show the axle sliders.

No title, but I will include a Bill of Sale.

Thumbs up

Really nice looking bike! New baby huh? Well look at it this way. In a few years (and man it happens fast) you'll be riding together! Chas was a blast when he was young. It's a time neither one of us will forget. You'll be back riding before you know what happened.

Hahaha, yeah, gonna be a dad soon. I can't wait.

If it's a girl, does anyone have a shotgun to sell? Gotta plan ahead.

Does the "No Title" thing really matter that much? All opinions welcome. I understand that people are afraid it's stolen, but it didn't come with a title - it's only off the factory assembly line.

LoL - you guys are an endless source of entertainment.

As for the title issue, I believe all that is needed are the frame VIN and engine ID# for the local constabulary or DMV to put together a title. With that said, it could even be made to be street-legal depending on the state's laws. IIRC, it's similar to titling a kit-car.

But yeah, this bike is basically track-only. There are kits for sale through companies (such as Baja Designs) that add headlights and taillights and turn signals, but I didn't bother with that.

I only ask because I've been getting some hassling emails through Craigslist offering $500 because there isn't a title. I usually ignore those emails, but it does get me thinking about the title thing...

Thanks #9. It was kind of a surprise for the wifey and me, too.

Plan to but you know what they say about the best laid plans. It's going to be packed from what I hear maybe even a sell out, why you want to come?

Thanks guys. I cleaned up a little more. Don't need that stuff on the forum.

Good luck on the sale. Nice bike!

Yeah, it's like a permanent record of one's stupidity! It was fun while it lasted - it's like a food fight - when it's over everybody helps clean up.

Thanks for the bump. =P

As for off-road, I wouldn't take this bike off-road. A little bit of dirt is ok, like what you get when you go supermoto-riding. But without the dirt wheels, tires, suspension, and brake caliper, you'd be up **** creek without a paddle.

I saw a promo done by KTM, Suzuki, somebody, of a guy on a supermoto really pouring it on. Lots of different riding conditions and just hauling ***! Have any of you guys seen it? It was a great commercial and the guy could really handle the bike - very experienced rider and fun to watch on such a high performance machine. Good photography too!

No idea. But I'm sure he'd go faster if he was on this bike that's for sale.

Congrats Marm,

I just found out yesterday that I am going to be a dad again too! Sherri (wife) said according to the Chinese gender calendar that it should be a boy! That will bring me up to 2 girls ( and I have a large arsenal in work) and hopefully a boy.

I will say that the little ones are a blast, and it gives you an excuse to buy little motorcycles!

Congrat again!

Haha, thanks supertwin! I'm not sure if I want a girl or boy - eventually at least one of each, so the first one doesn't matter.

As for little motorcycles, the wifey will have something to say about that. She's not into the whole motorcycle thing - especially after my last two incidents (broken clavicle, torn ligaments in ankle).

Congrats, Herb. I hope somebody else snaps your bike up so I don't have to. Again. Oh, I FIANLLY got the SHawk in for the anti-theft inspection NY requires for salvage-titled vehicles. With the title on it's way to me I can finally ride legally!
