Well tell your friend!! It's a really nice ride with potential for even more fun!! I hate to get rid of it, but I've moved to a different stage in my motorcycle life. I'd REALLY love to sell it to one of you guys on here as I know you'd appreciate it much more.
I'm also not opposed to shipping the bike, but the seller would obviously have to pay for that.

I'll ask around and see if anyone up this way is interested.
...Your sale is a few days late.
I just bought a 1998 for one of the partners in the company I work for.
Gave it a good once over and sent him down the road.
Yours would have been a better deal for sure.

Boooo!!! No worries, I appreciate the help! It should be easy for you to sell it, it has one of your flywheels on it!! :-D Why don't you just buy it and show off some more of your handiwork! :-P
Well since you asked, my 2 cents (for whatever it's worth if anything)... when you want to get YOUR price you should be prepared to sit on it for a little while (and at $4200 it could be awhile, or longer). It looks beautiful, but when it comes to value, it's still a 14 year old motorcycle with a RETAIL value of around $2700 and a trade in around $1800. You're asking $1500 over retail value, how come? I could be wrong but I don't think these are old enough or rare enough yet where you see really clean examples like yours starting to go for a bit more money. I think that may be the case a few more years down the road. Yes you have some nice aftermarket parts on there, and in my experience they may sweeten the deal a little for someone who knows/cares, but otherwise they're best sold separately because they really don't make the bike (or any vehicle for that matter) worth more. I see you already started doing that in another thread, but I'd still sell a few more things like the seat separately and you'll make up the difference, be able to lower the price, and move the bike a little faster. I don't claim to be an expert or anything, but I've bought and sold a few superhawks over the years, and quite a few other bikes also, and I think you'd be doing pretty well somewhere between 3k and $3500. You could also always throw it up on ebay with a reserve and you'll pretty much find out exactly what it's worth. Not promising it'll jive with what you'd like to get but I'm thinking it'll bid up somewhere near 3k, maybe slightly higher if it's spotless (and it looks like it in the vids-very nice) and you take nice pics. Anyhow it's a great looking bike, GLWS.

You have a excellent, low mileage Superhawk that already has everything done to it. It is finished. I would stick to your guns, unless you need to really move it.

What Captain said. The hawks around here seem to sell for between $2500 and $3000.
The mods only mean or have value to the small community of folks who really know the bikes, and might actually scare off the general public. Try a more general description - "V-Twin sport bike with way more torque than a 600 - much easier and more fun to ride. Sounds like nascar!" Post a youtube link to the exhaust sound.
I think a lot of the squid level public wants a repli-racer, but has no idea how great a v-twin is.
If you really want it gone, sell the aftermarket goodies that you can, drop the price to the lowest you will take, and wait it out.
I've seen some "nice looking" (but unknown quality) superhawks here in NC for sale for quite a while in the sub $3k price range, unfortunately.
The other problem that I've experienced - I can only sell used bikes during tax refund season - March and April - because people have a small chunk of available cash - trying to sell the rest of the year is dead slow.
Anyway, looks like you have a beautiful bike - post it everywhere you can, talk it up, and good luck.
PS: After reading your craiglist ad - it looks like you've done almost all of the above - hope you can find a buyer!

Good advice on the squid-talk! Now one thing i haven't done is post it on other area's craigslist sites. I really need to do the work and get it up on all the north texas and surrounding areas craigslist, because a LOT of people have no clue about search tempest...
Thanks for the advice, that could just help!

Hey Wannab: (edit)
I might be interested in buying your Hawk, but I'm in NC.
Do you know what shipping might cost?
Can't find IM on this bd so oldgardenernc@gmail.com.
