(i dont mean to be a bother, but can you address how you got the pillion foot rests on with the Jardine high mounts? do they bolt right up? do you need longer bolts?)

Yes, the Jardines come with spacers to push the foot rests out about 2 inches. You can sort of see them in the first picture.

Holy shiznit, Ken! Been a while. I haven't heard from you since....2004? Selling the SuperChicken, eh? Wassup with that? Slowing down in your old age? Gonna buy a 'Wing soon? (poke) :)

Hawkrider 09-28-2006 12:06 AM

Oh, BTW guys, this machine is set up nice for sport touring. Ken has added a lot of cool aftermarket goodies, I think some of which are not listed, though most are. Ken, didn't you have a Corbin seat too? Good luck with the sale!

Hey Greg, good to hear from you. What are you doing in NY?? What happened to SC?? Military moving you around??

No Wing for me. I just seem to ride the VFR more now than the VTR. The wife got rid of her bike and decided to start riding 2-up again and the VTR just isn't as comfortable for her as the VFR. I've only been putting on 2,000 miles a year on the VTR the past couple of years and the VFR gets 6-7k. I've also got a YZF600 for the track, so no need turning it into a track bike.

I do have the Corbin and Heli-bars for the VTR. Just took them off and planned to sell them separate. If the buyer is interested in those as well, we could work out some sort of deal for them.

Sister and brother-in-law live in Athens. I'll pass this along to him.

Yes, I'm up here for instructor duty for 3 1/2 years. I love everything about upstate NY - riding, people, fresh air, etc. I may try to live in this area when I retire in 6 years.

I moved back to VA in 01, remember? I commissioned the USS Ronald Reagan and then went to the Enterprise in 04 because the RR was going to San Diego.

Oh yeah, VA. Forgot about that one. I think upstate NY is nice until winter roles around. I grew up in Michigan and am tired of the snow.

Thanks for doing that. If they currently have bikes, you can let them know I also bought a tire changer and spin balancer earlier this year. I have been doing tires on the side for a lot less money than the local dealer would charge. They can mail order what they want, then bring them to me for mounting and balancing. $15 each for tubeless, $20 each for tires with tubes. Both prices for loose wheels. If I have to remove them from the bike it will be more, but still a lot less than a dealer.

Thanks,
Ken

Ken,

What changer did you get?

I bought this combo plus the adapters for motorcycle wheels. I've already done 4 car tires and probably 12 motorcycle tires for people. These things will pay for themselves in no time and I'll be changing my tires for free!!!

The horns are on either side of the rear sub frame. One on each side under the tail section. The little compressor is under the seat. The tail locker gives plenty of extra room for it.

they must be small horns mine wouldn't fit right
thank you

The bike looks good. Can you give some more details on the radar set-up ? Like where you mounted the detector ? Also, I'll take the heli-bars off your hands if you could please send me an IM.

Thanks,

Thanks,

I'll keep your name. The heli-bars and seat won't be sold until the bike is gone, just in case.

The detector gets put in the top of my tank bag. Radar doesn't work there though. I think next time I will get a real mount for it, but then of course it will be out in the open for all to see.

They were just a cheap plastic $25 set from the local auto parts store.
