I found this bike in a hanger near San Diego, CA and bought it from the previous owner's wife. He had passed away and the Honda sat unused for at least a year. I have always wanted to try one of these 996's since my days riding an NT650...loved that little guy. The VTR is red, complete, has 40k miles, and Erion mufflers. I cleaned, jetted and synched the carbs, set the valves (only one exhaust needed a smaller shim...and that was a judgement call). The front tire was toast so a new Bridgestone 020 was fitted, along with an angled valved stem. I have no room in my micro-garage for another bike. I'm a restorer at heart having completed a Porsche '68 912 and '67 911 along with a '65 Triumph T120C and a '73 Norton 850 Commando (currently in my livingroom). Not trying to bury the lead, I'm asking $2,500. This thing runs great and I'm enjoying the hell riding it until it sells. I'm in La Mesa, CA a suburb of San Diego.
