Hey guys, I just listed my now unnecessary stock tank on craigslist. $50 if you pick it up, $50 + a beer if I deliver it locally (DC area), $50 plus shipping if you need it sent to you. Listed here.

I didn't break it, but did get some nasty leather burns from the inside of my glove when my hand cushioned the bike landing on that side: Picture here (warning: road rash photos) I've got some scars on top of my hand too. My left knee is what really bit it, because I guess I tried to stick the landing in the ditch at ~45mph. Tore my ACL, PCL, and MCL. Tankslappers suck. Subsequently installed a Scotts damper. Those things rule!

What triggered the tank slapper? Never heard of one on a stock bike before.

Rear shock spacer (6mm), full throttle passing a truck and had just grabbed 2nd when the front hit a patch of bad pavement and skipped. Classic oscillation started, and by the time I realized it was headshake, it was a full blown tankslapper. Ended up in the ditch on the right side of the road. I was a. distracted, b. tired, and c. overconfident (I was .6 miles short of hitting the 3k mark on the bike). Inattention can bite you quick. Oh well. Got the bike patched up, got my knee patched up, and I've got another 11k on the odo...
