FWIW, I shared the link with a friend who promptly replied that he loves the bike but doesn`t think it will be a good seller here (referring to Quebec, Canada).... sadly, he may be right... it`s not an 800 lb, 40 hp, dipped-in-chrome Made-in-Milwaukee two-wheel vibrator.......

Give it a year or three and the 1050 will be even hotter.

There are a lot of positives but the 14 litre tank is a deal breaker for me.

Yeah I'd never buy a bike with a relatively limited fuel range. Eff that noise. Next please!

RCVTR is an unknown quantity at this point
I was just going to start a thread about it.

That's the first motorcycle I've seen in a long time, where my first reaction, followed by a more-informed 2nd reaction is "I want one."

I just spoke with a rep at Yamaha and they are claiming 115 hp... should give decent real-world performance

I might be becoming a relic, but i'm not feeling the styling...I like naked bikes, but this one doesn't have anything that just draws me in. I do like the older FZ1 and FZ6, maybe this one will grow on me over time, but as of now...it's a no.

Personally, when it comes to naked styling, I think we peaked about a generation ago with the Ducati Monster.

Lack of wind protection is a deal breaker for me. I like 'em though, a lot!

I have seen photos of one with a presumably factory made fly screen on it. There is a large gap between the headlight and console with 4 visible screws in it. This bike should be popular enough that ZG or Puig (both?) will come up with windscreen solutions for it.

Plus, it's almost a certainty that other platforms will emerge with this drive-train and frame (similar to Honda's recent method). The economy of motorcycle production almost dictates it.

Like stated in this vid, it sounds like this bike is one of the best bang-for-your-buck machines out there. I'd love to spend some time on one.
