wont start
i have a 1998 superhawk that was sitting for about 2 yrs i have recently tried to commission it, i drained the tank put new gas in it changed the fluids all around, i have new plugs for it, but can not seem to get the wires off the old ones,(is there a trick to this?) when i turned the bike over it cranks, but wont start i know i getting fuel cause i sprayed the carb with starting fluid (the vehicle kind!) and no go, so any easy ways to check spark? also if i have spark where should i check next? any help is appreciated!

Did you drain the carbs of gas before storing her up - if not try a search here for "cleaning carbs" 'starting problems' for solutions.
Of late there are a few coming out of hibernation and suffering the same problem. |

As for what to check, you need fuel, spark & compression for the engine to run. So if you have spark, make sure you really do have fuel, then do a compression check. But if you drained the tank and didn't pull the carbs and clean them very well, that is the place to start. |
