valves can still be had, I replaced all mine when I had the engine rebuilt last fall (had to wait for some of them though....)

they better be! although, at the rate Japanese bike manufacturers discontinue critical parts on out-of-production bikes, i wouldn't be surprised that a wait for a production run may be required.

i wonder if the VTR motor used in other Honda(s) has(have) the same valves?

Sorry about the late reply here but I think everyone might find this useful if they're trying to find the same parts for different bikes.

I've had like 3 instances that I can think of that simply because the model was different the cost was cheaper for the parts despite being the exact same part. WTF?

But go to to servicehonda.com and then direct connect to their parts cataloger. Then select your machine through the drop downs, select whatever part you're looking for then there's a function in one of the programs drop down boxes called "where used" and it's pretty self-explanatory. Most of the higher degree VTR stuff is pretty unique so finding parts can be challenging.

VERY VERY VERY useful on older bikes if any of you have them in the stable.
