what's the water pump cover made out of?? aluminum? magnesium? anyone know.

I bought a z400 suzuki a number of years back brand new and it was recalled right away because the engine cover and waterpump cover were magnesium and there was a bad reaction between the metal and the coolant and it would clog up solid with corrosion. interesting....
