Vista Cruise Throttle Lock

Does the Vista Cruise work on the Super Hawk? It seems like some members of the forum have them but the Sound Off site says that they will not work on the VTR1000 Super Hawk.

TIA,

I personally don't think any cruise control is good on a bike in general, not a good idea in my opinion, but what do I know... I'm an old fashion guy ;)

They work fine you just have to be a little creative in how you install/place them and how you secure them. I installed mine with the lever pointing straight down and used a tie wrap to secure the tab that sits between the throttle cables. I use my thumb to engage and dis-engage it. For long trips where any long highway droning is involved it is a welcome relief, at least for me it is.

It works very well. but like upland said it takes a little thinking to put it on. I used model # MCVICO and put a couple of layers of heatshrink around the tab that goes between the throttle cables to take up the extra slack and held in place with a zip tie. over 30,000 miles with it and never a problem.

I had the Vista Cruise mounted much the same way as described previously. After finding the NEP throttle lock, installation went easily without any modifications. The locking function is positively improved when compared to the Vista Cruise.

Thanks for the feedback. I just ordered the Vista Cruise MCVICO. My grip already has a good size gap where it goes so should be an easy install. I'm assuming that I don't have have to remove the grip to install it.

BTW, I used the older style vista pictured below. I don't care for the new version. I feel it looks much cleaner to cut about 50% off of the engagement tab, both width and length, but your preferance in both cases.

That looks like the one I ordered. i went this route because of the clean look/lines.

I've used one for 10 yrs. Great on long trips. I put it between the throttle cables.

+1 for between the cables.
It's nice to be able to relax the throttle hand on a long run which helps w/ fatigue.

A throttle lock may have played a part in my Dad missing the lower 3rd of a leg when it locked on a Goldwing back in the 80's. IMO...I wouldn't use one. If my wrist is tired I pull over and take a break. By that time other body parts might like a break too.
