VFR Rim

There is a 1990 VFR rim on ebay, does anyone which rotors will work with that rim on a VTR?

Thank you

ACE VenTRa 01-31-2019 01:23 PM

Alternatively. do any forum members have a rim for sale?

NHSH 01-31-2019 01:31 PM

Is it front or rear rim, VFR have a very different wheel in the rear :-) it is a single sided swing arm.

ACE VenTRa 01-31-2019 02:24 PM

Well, rotors indicates plural, which should mean front rim.
Maybe I have sss on my hawk...it has been a long January.
If I said rear would I be ridiculed?

Anyhoo, front rim please. Does anyone know which rotors will fit on the front rim of a 1990 VFR and will work on the VTR?

Rim, rotors, axle from a '90 VFR wont fit a VTR. Sure anything is possible, but why?

NHSH 01-31-2019 06:19 PM

Actually you can make it fit, but first you will have to change the wheel bearing to fit the later axle size (I did that before) and than you have to get rotors from either VFR750 same year or CBR600 F2, CBR1000F, it is an older pattern bolts and these parts are rarer and probably not in a good shape, you much better off using CBR600 F3 wheels if you interested in the style of the rim, pretty much bolt on.

Spacers, rotor diameter and offset, possible issues with bearing and seal depth.
Why? When there are other, better combinations.

Roger that,

Thx

Cuz it looks most similar to the 900RR rear rim...which I would like to have on my hawk, window shopping now basically.

Other VFR combo's? I'd really like the twisted spoke. Machining is not an issue, it's the least of concerns.

OK, I get it.
A very useful tool, if you don't already know about it, is at (maybe others) Partzilla. There is a feature that when a part is clicked on you will get the part details (sometimes) and a a list of other models that the part was/is used on.

NHSH 02-01-2019 06:08 AM

The original 900RR rim was actually smaller diameter of 16" I can't remember the later models, CBR600F3 is the best match for front wheel, as for the rear, you can either use the CBR600F3 or CBR900RR, both match and work on VTR, just different width.

I have rims if you need.

F3 front, 900RR rear. The easy way to get what you want

ACE,
It's a 17" right? If so, which year 900RR is this from? Love the gold BTW.
Thanks
