Timing jumped, possible damage.

All right everyone looking for some advice.
I am looking at a 99 that needs some valves replaced.
After questioning the current owner it sounds like the cam timing jumped. I know about the CCT issues and suspect that is what happened. The current owner was told it would cost $1500 to fix it.
I am fully capable of fixing this myself and am not the least bit afraid of the job.
Now for my questions. What is the normal damage when this happens? I know the valves but do the guides get damaged? What about the piston? Does it get ruined by the valves? Does the rod ever get damaged?
I do not have the bike so I am trying to get these answers to decide if it is worth it and how much I should offer.

Thanks for the help.

Valves in the effected head.

So you’re likely to need, 4 valves, valve seals, 4 sets of cotters, ,, me Id replace the springs as well.
Then a head gasket, set of MCCT’s, coolant and oil.

It’s possible a valve guide can be damaged when the valve is bent, and if the timing caused a valve / piston crash at higher RPM, the piston can be damaged as well.

If I were bidding on a used bike having this issue.. I would assume the worst, and price the bike accordingly

See if you can locate a second-hand (front?) head and transplant that on.

Depending on how bad the damage is to the pistons, you might want to replace them as well. It can create a pressure spot in the piston, as well as a place for a crack to start from, and well, I'm sure you can imagine the damage when a piston comes apart at 9500rpm.
