stuttering, bucking, misfiring at steady 2-4k rpm
The superhawk is acting up. At steady speed between 2000-4000rpm, like going 30mph, the engine "hiccups" quite a bit. It sounds like a misfire, engine bucks and then smooths out. I think it's running lean, but I'm not sure. I have devil pipes and a K&N jet kit. The jet kit has been in place for 22,000 miles with no problems before.
I'm thinking about re-syncing the carbs and checking for vacuum leaks. Maybe I should also change the plugs. Any other suggestions? Anyone have this problem? It runs great while accelerating or running on the highway. |

Raise the needles a notch, or raise the clip a notch on the needles?
|
+1
Then sync the carbs. Clean your air filter too. I think he meant go richer, which would be lowering the clip, thus raising the needle. |
Are the needles titanium?

No, stainless steel. I just raised them a notch this afternoon and re-sync'd the carbs too. I'll do a test ride tomorrow and report back.
