stock calipers, please help

while installing new s/s lines and new pads and speed bleeders, I over tightend the left side (clutch side) speed bleeder and snapped it off in the caliper:( do any of you that did the caliper upgrade have a stock left side caliper you would consider parting with? Thanks in advance,Neil

have you considered trying to get the broken part out with an e-z out ?
I've got my stock calipers, gold colored, and really doubt if I can sell them for anything so I would consider helping you out. The boss would like me to get a little money for it though. What do you think ? I'm in FL and perfer to ship USPS.

sprhawk neil 02-11-2007 12:29 PM

Birdoprey, I pretty much trashed it with my dremal tool trying to grind a slot in it to turn it out with a screwdriver:( there is a set of black ones on e-bay with 5 hours left and no bids for 9.99 plus 8-9$ shipping would you take 15- 20$ shipped?

Birdoprey 02-11-2007 12:37 PM

Just checked the weight: both together about 6 lbs. plus box, etc. you want just the left or both. they're pristine, 12,000 miles on bike when removed. Parcel Post or Priority? gotta factor in shipping, ya know.

Birdoprey 02-11-2007 12:42 PM

neil, gotta head out to work, won't be back until after the ebay black ones are gone. I'm willing to help you out. $15 for 1, Parcel $20/1 Priority or $20-25 for 2? will talk later. Craig

sprhawk neil 02-11-2007 12:44 PM

I might as well take both, just regular shipping is fine, I sure can't ride any time soon here!! I'm at 49667 MI. just p.m. me with your price and address.

FYI guys, USPS has priority flat rate boxes for less than $8 shipped anywhere in the US (don't know about HI and AK) irregardless of weight. As long as it will fit in the box, they'll ship it for that amount and that includes the box.

I shipped a pair of front brake rotors from so. Texas to upstate Maine for that amount. What does a pair weigh? 20lbs? LOL What a deal. I use them for most ebay sales as it makes shipping charges a "no brainer".

sprhawk neil 02-11-2007 01:34 PM

thanks superbling, the guy on e-bay wanted 8$ for usps so that must be why

Birdoprey 02-11-2007 07:49 PM

'bling, thanks! I don't think of those one price boxes because everything I've sold and shipped that would fit in one was so light it made better sense to pay by the pound.
Just spent the last six hours beating myself with a stick. I can't believe I would be so selfish and I'm sorry. If it weren't for this forum I wouldn't know that the six pot GSXR calipers fit on our 'Hawks. I lucked out on my calipers, the guy listed them with a starting bid of $20 and added the buy it now of $20 at like 2 in the morning and I happened to check my watch list in the middle of the night and jumped on that! the short version: I owe my brother SuperHawkers and therefore will send my OEM calipers to sprhawk neil for the cost of postage, $8.00. thank you. pm sent.

Wife has 'em. Well, they were in a jar on the mantle till I got my new cat. She likes to play with things... Haven't seen them in a while.
