Soft clutch

I have rebuilt the master cylinder and replaced the hose. The last thing I am waiting on are the parts for the slave cylinder rebuild kit. Could the slave by why I am getting next to no resistance from my lever? I have bled the system to perfection and still no resistance. Note that the bike is 13 years old with 13k miles on it. Before I rebuilt and replaced things the clutch would slip when the parts would get hot then cold again.

Pull off the front sprocket cover and check for a leak. Since you've eliminated the other 2 parts of the system, the slave seal is probably leaking.

i dont want to rip it open until i have all of the parts on hand because im weird like that... in addition to my other post the master cylinder's parts were glazed and shrunk up.

It could be that the PO either never changed the fluid or put something other than brake fluid in the master.

The slave is all that's left, if you bled it properly.

When I first flushed the system it looked like chocolate milk but the fluid in the reservoir was clear. so maybe there was a small leak and thats why the fluid up top was good? idk... I'll find out once it's ripped apart. The parts will be here in two weeks or so. Apparently a couple of the parts were on back-order.

Been there done that - Try a new seal on the slave as well - but beware if there is any scoring/damage to the bore you'll need to replace the whole unit.

ok next question... how much fluid do you think i should flush though my clutch hose before i know i am good? i mean I am currently at no air bubbles but still no pressure. any suggestions? when i pulled the slave apart the piston was totally STUCK inside the slave. What is the proper operation of the pin inside the slave cylinder?
thanks

if all you is right then you need to pull apart the slave and do a deep clean on it. if it is stuck your pressure will never build up because the bleed by will always be there. i have seen them pump clear with no air and put together then once flushed around turn black again due to the carbon build up in the master and slave cylinder. so unless you pull it apart and clean you ge that alot, besides with the problem you are having i would take apart and clean then do a good flush.
and to answer to how much should you flush.
flush enough to get the air out, any more is a waist.
