So how do I adjust the idle screw with the carbs installed?

So how do I adjust the idle screw with the carbs installed?

I installed the carbs thinking I could tweak the screws with them in but so far no good. Hands too big, brain too small.

I can't do it. And I can't find a tool to do it other than the Honda one for about $300. What you need is the motion pro tool with a D shaped bit, but they only offer it with a slotted bit.

I've heard you can cut a slot in the needle. Or hire a midget.

Motion Pro sells the tools, one is $30.00 the other is $90.00. The Honda tool is I think $100.00.

These tools adjust the air/fuel at idle. Not the idle speed!

You know what I meant. Where did I say speed? Cut me some slack I've been up for over 26 hours.

I looked again and they seem to list the same tool I mentioned. Are you saying they sell the proper tool but its not listed on the website?

Spend $5 and buy a dozen doughnuts and take it to your service manager at the dealer. He'll let you borrow the tool as long as you don't leave the parking lot. Worked for me anyway. :)

I've decided to replace my emulsion tubes so I'll adjust them then. Its going to suck if I have to adjust them again.

Anyone know baseline for a stock bike with a stage 1 dynojet kit with 185/180 mains, needle clips 3 up, and a stock 45 pilot? I live at about sea level. The kit says 2.5 turns out but I remember most people running around 1 3/4.
