slipon leaks will they adversely effect the motor?

Hi so excuse my extreme ignorance, but i have an old slipon, and on the left side the base of the canister is leaking, and the slipon is basically straight through. the bike is stock except for this pipe.

First off, will the leak effect the motor in the long run? i.e. will there be a problem with one pipe having a lower backpressure than another?

what about running the slipon as a straight pipe? will the bike run excessively lean?

basically, i dont mind running this thing the way it is as long as in the long run or even in the short term i wont kill something. I havent ridden it as of installing the leaky pipes, but i have fired up the motor(obviously), and it idles fine, and yes, it does pop on decel toward idle when blipping throttle.

any help appreciated.

No, they won't hurt the motor.

(Although I may start answering some questions that way, just for fun!)
