Slightly Bent Fairing Stay

I've managed to slightly bend my left fairing stay. It's right at the point where the mirror bolts to the bike. Anyone have any luck straightening one out. It's only off about 1/4". I'm thinking about pulling the fairing off and attaching a pipe over the end of the thing and pulling like hell on it.

Will it work?

Thanks,

Re: Slightly Bent Fairing Stay

Well I pulled the front fairing a little forward. And grabbed ahold of the stay with some channel locks and pulled forward. I got it to move enough to allow the clutch fluid res. to clear the fairing. Now when i turn the bars full lock to the left the high beam gets turned on. No big really though. Whenever I get tired of that I'll pull the fairing again and pull some more. It's always a PITA to get the fairing back on. Oh well.

Thanks,

Re: Slightly Bent Fairing Stay

I downed my sh a while ago, what I used was a friend to sit on the bike, propane torch and an alluminum baseball bat.

It may sound shadetrtee, AND IT IS, but it worked great. I looked at the cost of getting a replacement and it was just too much.

So I bent it back and made sure that it was in about the same area, lined up the holes and it works great. Obviously did have to strip the farings off in order to do this
