Shift Peg went good bye!

So this morning riding down the highway I went to shift into 5th and found that my peg vanished and no longer resides on the shift lever. Nothing is broken but it looks like these little guys are screwed on instead of welded.

Anyone know where I can get a new Shift Peg that will fit even if its not oem? Local shops had nothing to offer except a bolt that i have set in with a washer with 2 nuts. Looks ghetto as hell and would like to find a new peg.

Any assistance would be helpful. I have found like a billion harley pegs but im not trying to rock skullz and snake pegs.

Thanks!

Contact Jamie: SuperHawk Forum - View Profile: JamieDaugherty as it sounds like you might have one of his shifters on your bike.

Is this something the PO would have done?!? Im not aware of a swap lol. Were the factory units welded on as opposed to bolted?

The stock unit is cast as one piece. Though you could always post a picture....

Actually mine is just like that & isnt a JD job. I know since I did it myself when I broke the orig. All you need is the rubber part right? Or is the whole bolt gone (then you need the bolt too)

For sure you could put any rubber on it but you could get this

the whole bolt is gone. Good Call on that link wouldn't happen to know where i can get a pretty bolt like they got pictured do you?

Yeah, any hardware store, pretty standard. Besides the bolt will be covered, but this time be sure to get nylock nuts.

The one in the pic is not a bolt, it's part of the shifter..... One piece cast unit. ;)

shifter peg loss

I went with Jamie's shifter conversion and am very happy with it. I lost the shifter peg after a couple of weeks, but found it in my driveway. I put it back on, but didn't use any locktite or lock-washers and the peg came up missing again a couple of weeks later. I replaced it with a piece of aluminum rod that a friend drilled and tapped and knurled the O.D. It looks pretty good, but won't be as comfortable to use barefoot or wearing sandals.
