Shawks tire pressure
 

My Frame says 250 kpa front and 290 kpa rear (granted its from Canada so it's a firestorm) but the conversion is 42 rear and 36 front. Should I always run lower in the front? In the canyons I usually run about 32 rear and 34 front. Commuting i run like 40r 40 f. That's a big difference from the frames recomendations. Am I way off par here?

That is correct, plus it is also depending on your general weight and if you carry a passenger or not and the style of riding.
As a general rule, if you no nothing about your tires or other details, I would stick to 32 - 34psi front and 36 - 38psi rear, till you figure out your best combination.
I would not have the rear tire with less pressure than the front.

Whats the reason for a lower front pressure? I only weigh a buck fifty, I run Q3's, although that my change. I was hopin that the Q3 would wear slower than the Q2's but they seem to wear faster. I can't afford to slap on brand new rubber every 2-3 months. I commute on my bike plus "spirited" canyon riding on the weekends. Im gathering opinions on a tire that will outlast the qualifiers but not sacrifice grip for the canyons. Plus I change my tire pressure from higher when commuting to lower when canyon riding.

I would go with the PP3, they are sticky as hell and from what I have heard last much longer than Q3. I too weigh 150, if that helps at all.

I have an '05 now, and it's a SuperHawk. Not 100% sure of this, but in NA, both were available either north or south of the border.

More grip in the rocks at low speed.
