Rick's Rectifier or Electrosport Rectifier
Which is better?
|
If you read Tweety's article "MOSFET Regulator/Rectifiers - The Why & The How" in the Knowledge Base, you'll probably decide that neither is better than a used Shindengen Mosfet R/R from a breaker or ebay.
|
Neither. I Bought a Ricks when mine showed signs of burning cause I was in a jam and needed it quick. Needless to say that one burned a year later. Really burned up this time wires and all and it blew my battery as well. After reading Tweetys post I went with one from a 07 ZX6R mosfet version and been running smooth ever since. Don't waste your money and time on the old design thats proven to fail.

That article by Tweety is very informative. Sounds like that is the way to go. I'm just a little Leary of buying used parts. But being a Mosfet it sounds like they last a long time. Tanks guys.

I've never personally used this seller, but new ones are available, too:
SHINDENGEN MOSFET FH020AA REGULATOR/RECTIFIER KIT REPLACES FH012AA | eBay |
If one were to buy from say parts unlimited or tucker rocky what is the proper mosfet regulator I one would get?
|
Where Used Tool
Edit: If by "proper" you mean a Mosfet R/R as used in Yamahas. You will need connectors to install this correctly as well... |
Yes mosfet. I work at a shop so if I can purchase items at the discounted rate through pu or tucker I do.
