Rejetting tips?

I moved out to colorado for the summer and I brought the bike with me, I was expecting the have to change the mains/pilots when I got out here but I'm not sure what size to do. I'm in the mountains and will be doing most of my riding between 5,000-8,000 feet. the bike has D&D cans but otherwise is all stock. is there an equation for this or is it trial and error?

With D&D cans- everything else stock- You're probably a tad lean at anything near sea level. My guess would be that at 5k-8k feet it will run fine. I'd ride around for a while and check it out before I'd do anything.

Just to give you a base for tuning, I've got Yosh slip-on's, K&N air filter, +4 ignition advancer, and a mild port and polish. I'm running stock jetting as low as 900', as high as 8k' and constantly at 5k'. I do get some hesitation at 8k' but I'm never there long enough for it to bother me.

sounds good, I fired it up yesterday and it smelled rich to me I'll run it for a bit and see if it works its way out.
