Rearsets installation question
 
What is the best (easiest, quickest) way to remove/install the swing arm bolt to install rearsets?

Kidding, lift the rear wheel just enough to take pressure off it. I used an atv type jack and the swing arm rested on the lift which made it fairly easy. It's been so long I can't remember anything that was way off the wall.

Did you just remove the bolt & NOT replace/push it out with a rod to hold the swing arm in place?

Tomorrow is the big day
Install Gilles Rearsets (beautiful), Race Tech .90 springs, compression & rebound valves.

Later this week my TBR header pipes will be finished at the Ceramic Coaters & I can install them (and take the stock pipes back off)

And sometime this week my new Michelin Power Power tires will be in. Have to take the wheels off & get them installed.
Wish I could find a better price on installation than $30 per wheel.
But they do a nice job not scratching the wheels.

Yeah I didn't have to because it just sat on the jack and I used a pry bar to re-align it. I suppose you could use a couple of jack stands right under the mounts. What are you using to jack the bike?

If you had something long enough to hold the swing arm but get the pegs off that would probably work well.

Ya I was afraid I would have to use a pry bar to realign the holes.

Maybe a trip to Home Depot with the swing arm nut.
I might be able to find a rod close to the right size.

what are you doing to the pipe? New color?

Ceramic coating polished silver.
Eventually I'll put a lower (belly) fairing on it.
Read many lowers were damaged by the heat from the pipe.

Also don't want heat off the rear pipe too close to my new Ohlins rear shock. (they claim 40% heat reduction on the outside of the pipe)

It's too damn expensive to cook the shock oil next summer!
I thought about header wrap but that will trap moisture against the TBR pipes. Over a long time that can't be good. Even stainless steel will eventually rust/corrode

Nice, If your throwing the stock away send it my way for my single sided exhaust proj. :lol: I would love to find just the aftermarket header pipe somehow.
