Rear sprocket hub dampners

I have approx. 1/4 in. or more free play movement on the rear sprocket hub assy. and know it's worn but, what symptoms are felt with worn torque scrunchers. I ask only because the tire is new and the chain and sprockets are so so. However, if it's drastic I'll replace them.
Thanks.

I would say replace them also... Just had my rear wheel off for new tires and they were still snug at 7100 miles.

Spray the damper rubbers with silicone spray and clean the hub thoroughly. I have 41k on mine and they look like new. Spray them every time you change your rear tire.

Thanks, I think I'll replace them soon.
