rear header install?
I dropped the original exhaust header to install the hindle system. I had the rear cylinder header off easely, but no luck at all to reinstall. I just can't install the hindle or the original one. It's just impossible to realing everything.
Do you guys drop the whole rear to make room to install it or you are able to install it with everything in place? |

Not sure about the Hindle system ( if its two piece or one) but with the stock exhaust, you put the short (rear) header pipe in first, then the rest of the header assy, install gasket between the short header pipe and the rest of the header and install the clamp. Now if you are trying to do it all as one piece thats why you cant get it in, it has to go in separate. |
I am trying to put the short piece only and it just wont go in. I tried both the stock and hindle.

If it came out, it will go back in. I promise you that.
If I remember correctly the easiest way was to take pressure off the swing arm by lifting the rear of the bike. ( I used my hooks in the ceiling truss and ratchet straps to the sub frame.) Or if you have friends that feel like holding the weight off for a minute that works too. That may make the process go quicker. |
Im a dick. I was trying to install it backwards.. shame on me
|
I'm glad that you got it sorted out.
