Rear Brake Pad Change - Pad Pin Stuck

1 Attachment(s)
Hi, I was in the process of changing my shot rear brake pads. I got the caliper off, and then went for the pads. I couldn't seem to get the pad pin off. This is the one with a line through the pin head. Has anyone had trouble getting this off? Is it meant to be unscrewed or pushed out?

Edit: Also, just noticed the rear caliper looks like a vtwin, rad.

It just unscrews and the actual pin is underneath it.

Thanks, problem is, mine is totally seized. I'm afraid if I keep trying to turn it, it'll just strip the screw. Guess the best option here is to buy a new caliper?

These screw out, but like to seize in place and they're made of soft alloy so can be stripped easily. I'd use an impact screwdriver to get this loose, then use some copper-slip anti-seize when you re-install.

I use the hand impact driver also.

Sometimes it needs dremmelling - once out replace with a stainless hex head grub screw and copperslip.
