Rear brake fluid... where is going???

No visible leaks anywhere, but I have to top it off more frequently than I feel would be "normal"... usually drops about an eighth of and inch or more from the full mark. Is this anyone else's problem?

Do you use the rear brake? If it was me, I'd tie the rear brake down overnight and see if it was leaking the next day. Might only be leaking when the pedal is depressed. Maybe I'm way off, I'm not sure but I'm sure someone will chime in with a idea.

Good idea... I do use it, and I find I have to stomp on it to feel like I am getting any braking power from it. I figured it was just the way it is, but I don't know.

I would think though, even if it were only leaking under use, I would still see where it was coming from? I mean, there ain't a whole lot to the rear brake system... unless it is leaking somewhere like the caliper which is down low and may be too dirty to see the leak?

That's what I was thinking, if leaking when used and it's leaking at the caliper maybe you wont see a leak due to the dirt. Give it a try, can't hurt.

If you do not have a leak the only other reason for the level in the resevoir to drop is that the fluid is going into the caliper. Is your rear brakes dragging? This would make your pads wear faster. Is one pad thinner than the other?= stuck caliper=pad toward piston I bet. Both pads wearing fast=sticking piston in caliper or master cylinder problem or even a bad hose. The stomping thing tells me caliper piston sticking. Do the stomp-raise wheel and see if it spins freely. If not go from there. Let us know what you find.

I gotta get some wheel chocks, once and for all! I can't do half of the shit I need to do without them... I can't try the raise the wheel thing from the kickstand...
