RC51 vs VTR clutch levers differences?

i have a RC51 break lever and a vtr clutch lever.
can i use a rc51 lever?
i would like to either get a rc51 clutch mastercylinder or modify the RC lever.

ideas, suggestion,

I have said this before, in response to similar questions... The RC51 and the VTR have less than 10 parts in common, unless you count a few M8 & M6 bolts...

Get a RC clutch master if you want matching levers...

BTW you do know a that there is a good simple way of checking if things match up by using this link right?

http://fiche.ronayers.com/

Find the part in the fiche and use reverse lookup...

Did you break your brake lever?

Going to a site for aftermarket levers, Pazzo, for instance, will give you an idea of which models will interchange.

i am upgrading my break lever to an RC51 19 mm master cylinder.
i want to have the same style levers on clutch levers.
the RC51 clutch seems very close "not the same" but close.
14 mm master cylinder and accepts RC51 style levers.

of course rc 51 clutch master cylinder is the easy and simple fix.
i am just trying to filter through the pros and cons of all the options.

i do not like the plastic fluid reservoir. to fragile.
the thinking is what is the best clutch for my requirements.

Hey Tweety, You just seem to answer the same dumb question, from us idiots with RC-51 junk- trying to super glue the parts on a Superhawk... Dam, You are to nice a guy..Opps -Did I say that...Ha Ha.

Heh... some parts work, and some doesn't... And most of those do, if you have the right "adapter" inbetween... Be it the triples for a fork or the master cylinder for the handle...;)

The thing is... I have kind of tested the first half of the gasilion combinations myself (you should see my pile of stuff that didn't quite fit...), and most of the others have been tested by others... I just have a good memory so I can answer pretty easily...

I think this thread directly relates to his previous question about the clutch engage/disengage point.

Which will be identical or near too it at least on all hydraulic clutches... As long as it's properly blead and working normally, all hydraulic clutches engages at the outer point of the movement...

You're assuming a basic knowlege of hydraulics and fluid dynamics exist....

Actually no... By now I have learned not to assume...;) That's why I stick tidbits like these into conversation and see if people start asking follow up questions...:rotf:

Baiting the animals is not legal in some states as Ted Nugent recently found out!

In my experience the RC51, Superhawk, and 6th Gen VFR share an identical clutch lever.

8541Hawk 09-12-2010 07:46 PM

The VTR, CBR1100XX, VFR800FI & VFR800A use the same clutch lever.

The RC51 uses a different lever.

Could not help myself, I went and attempted (5 min swap) -switching the levers on my bikes.
"DON'T ,question proven fact".... RC-51 lever wouldn't fit...
