Rattle noise??

When I'm at cruising speed I notice a faint rattle more like a ding ding ding sound. Lol! At a stand still no noise or rompin on it. Cam chain?

anyone know what it could be? it runs awesome...?

Your mobile phone's crazy frog ring tone??

How loose is the chain??

PUSHrod 09-12-2011 02:21 PM

Steady or intermittent? Metallic or organic? Detonation maybe?

I took me a month once to figure out that the glass in one of my mirrors was loose and rattled under throttle application. Another was worn thin brake pads rattling in the caliper.

Perhaps if you tried a size smaller helmet. . . .worked for me.

The most cost effective tool in my garage is a mechanic's stethoscope.

HAA! Thats funny. Because yesterday, I pulled up to a light, and heard this strange noise. It sounded like my tank was bubbling up, like a kettle almost. "WTF IS THAT DAMN NOISE!!!" It was making the noise for about 15 minutes. I get home, shut it down, and hear my phone making the noise in my suit. It got bumped on, then went into the "Select ring tone" section, and just kept going and going and going.

If it was the cam chain/tensioner issue it would be at all speeds including standstill idle. Don't worry about it just ride & enjoy:D:D

Metallic sound. Awe I'll just romp! Ha! Thanks...

Well you never answered my question..... and if the chain is set too loose it can and will hit the exhaust which could be causing the sound you are hearing....

Nah chain is good...Thanks...The sound is very faint..Performance is awesome! The more I ride this bike the more I find out how incredible of a bike it is! Power wheelies over noles and awesome cornering....I do tend to grind the shoes alot..Do they make higher rear sets?

Where are you at in Ohio. I'm in Delaware (north of Columbus) and occasionally get over to the New Philadelphia/Dover (south of Canton) area to ride dual sports. Due for some Fall Foliage rides when the leaves turn color. Hope rain doesn't blow 'em all off first.
