Radiator Fan
 

Two things I need help with. My radiator fan is not working and my bike is running way to hot. Even at high speeds, it's running around 210 degrees. At low speeds it will get up to mid 230s before I stop and let it cool down. Has anyone experienced this before. I checked the fuses and they're all in good shape.

I think the fan is on a relay check that first while your working on the fan any-ways you should think about hooking it up to a switch.

A somewhat common issue: a rock or other debris gets lodged between the fan blades and prevent it from turning. I would think that would blow a fuse tho'.

anybody try any other fan setups? seems like they all run hot,maybe another fan .push pull the air?

I was sitting in some traffic yesterday afternoon and the bike got as hot as it ever has, 236 degrees. I might have been a little worried, but I referred myself back to here where no one really frets over the heat. On hot days it's often between 210 and 220, even while riding. I just assume it's normal, and plan to change out the cooling system fluid every year to make sure it's able to do its job.

Well, guys I found the problem. Last weekend I took the fairing off and was checking the wires to my fan. I had the local dealership do a valve adjustment recently and for some reason they unhooked the ground wire to the fan and when they reattached it they connected it to a bolt that had a rubber grommet. I attached the ground wire to the correct bolt and it's working well. When my bike gets to 218 degrees the fan automatically comes on and the temps drop down to about 210. Now I'm wondering if the mechanic adjusted my valves properly.
