quick question, coolant leak

So Im finally getting my bike back together so I can ride after over a year...

Over the past year everything has been cleaned thoroughly and rebuilt with new gaskets and hoses etc...

While running it yesterday (idling) I have discovered coolant seeping from the bottom hose connection of my right radiatior... today I tightened up those clamps and a few others and after running there seems to be seeping out of other radiator connections on both sides...

as I have replaced all hoses and clamps I have determined this to be caused by too much pressure in the cooling system. However, when I remove the cap and press on the valve with some pressure it moves...

has anyone ever had an issue with a radiator cap becoming stiffer over time? or is there something else I should be looking at before I get raped at the stealership for a new cap?

BTW I have searched for threads involving this situation and come up with nothing, so if there is one out there please send me a link...

Thanks ahead of time for all your help

new developments... tightened up a few more connections and freed up a minor clog in the hose going from the rad to res, that only took blowing through it with slight force...

and no leaks as of right now, I will be keeping an eye on it but the question about the cap still stands...

re Cap. Keep searching there's a thread or three that mention a pattern (i.e chepaer off the shelf) radiator cap.

Schnitz Racing(spelling?) sells a higher pressure cap, think its 1.5 bar(???) let me find it.

I appreciate the prompt responses... i seemed to have fixed the leak for the moment but will be keeping a close eye on it.

Ill probably invest in a schnitz one a have some spare change in a month or so seeing as i wont be riding much til then (still in the 20s and 30s with he occasional warm day)...

Besides, schnitz is still cheaper then oem :P
