Problem solved

My jetting problem was not a problem at all. While the mechanic was putting new tires on I asked him to take it out and tell me what he thought. When I returned to pick it up he said there was a clogged pilot jet and it is fine now. Sure enough it has smooth low end from about 3k now. Now its smooth around the city and thumps right down the freeway. I am very pleased with this bike. Enough power but not so much as to be intimidating. Thanks again to all that offered advice.

Good to hear it worked out for ya'. I wouldn't have thought that was the problem. Pilot jets control flow at idle and just above. Maybe he meant something else?

I'm not entirely sure what he meant. To be honest I got all excited and took off on it without asking for any further explaination. When I brought it to him it was idling at 1500 rpm and a little rough. I got it back idling smoothly at 1000 rpm. I always said my next bike would be FI so I wouldn't need to learn carbs. Then I bought a SH, oh well it runs awsome now.

EFI has it's own set of problems :)
