Problem with LED flasher relay

HI, here is a link to the product I bought. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...3AIT&viewitem=

I bought some R1 Mirrors with integrated turn signals in them, and Watson flush mount turn signals. I installed both then hooked up the flasher relay. It was easy to hook up plug and play. However, now my brake light for my rear brakes don't work. The rear brake lights are just regular not LEDs. Everything else works fine and I checked to make sure the rear brake light worked before relay was installed. If you guys have any ideas about why this is happening I would apprieciate it. Thanks a ton.

Well the only thing I can think of is that you must have disconnected the brake lights whe you attached the rear signals, since the Brake system does not go through the flasher at all.

Good idea but i know i didn't disconnect the brake light wires; because the brake light still works for the front brakes just the rear doesn't work. Its weird I can't figure it out.

There is a spring triggered switch by the right side peg. You adjust it's sensitivity by turning it by hand. I'll hazard a guess it has not triggered the brake lights for a while and you only caught it following the mod.

When i take the relay out the brake light works fine both front and rear brakes light up. As soon as I put the relay in just the rear brake light stops working.

The flasher relay connect to 3 wires: Gray, Green and White/Green.

The green wire is the common ground for the brake/rear lights, the license light and the blinkers.

The gray wire is coming directly from the blinker switch on the handlebar.

The white/green wire comes from the horn switch on the handlebar, to the front brake light switch, to the fuse box, then to the rear brake light switch AND to the blinker relay.

I am no electrician, but i see a common wire between the relay and the brake lights. Maybe the relay has a wrong specification? Hope this help a bit.

John:

Posting pictures always helps when asking the forum to troubleshoot.

I have a two wire LED flasher also. Here is a diagram of the way mine is wired. Honestly, a can't remember what order the wires are in the plug, but the color change from harness-to-relay is correct.
